Daily Sudoku: easy, medium and hard

Three fresh sudoku grids every day, each with a unique solution. Pencil marks, hints and a timer included.

In short

Play three new sudoku puzzles every day in easy, medium and hard. Fill the 9×9 grid so every row, column and 3×3 box contains 1 to 9. Every puzzle has exactly one solution. Notes, hints and undo included.

How to play Daily Sudoku

  1. The grid has 9 rows, 9 columns and nine 3×3 boxes.
  2. Fill every empty cell with a number from 1 to 9.
  3. Each row, each column and each 3×3 box must contain every number from 1 to 9 exactly once.
  4. Tap a cell, then tap a number. Wrong numbers are shown in red and counted as mistakes.
  5. Turn on Notes to write small candidate numbers in a cell.
  6. Choose easy, medium or hard. Each level has its own puzzle and its own statistics every day.

Tips and strategy

  • Start with rows, columns or boxes that are already almost full.
  • For each number, scan the grid and look for the only cell in a box where it can go.
  • Use notes on harder levels: write the possible candidates and remove them as you fill cells.
  • If two cells in a row can only be the same two numbers, those numbers cannot go anywhere else in that row.
  • Selecting a number highlights every copy of it, which makes scanning faster.

Frequently asked questions

Does every puzzle have one solution?

Yes. Each daily puzzle is checked when it is generated so that it has exactly one valid solution.

What is the difference between the levels?

Easy starts with 40 given numbers, medium with 32 and hard with 26. Fewer givens means you need more advanced logic.

Do mistakes end the game?

No. Mistakes are counted and shown in your result, but you can keep playing until the grid is complete.

How do notes work?

Switch on Notes and tap numbers to add or remove small candidates in the selected cell. When you place a number, matching notes in the same row, column and box are removed automatically.

Is my progress saved?

Yes. Your grid, notes and timer are saved in your browser, so you can close the page and continue later the same day.

Can I use the keyboard?

Yes. Type 1–9 to enter a number, 0 or Backspace to erase, arrow keys to move and N to toggle notes.
